Exceptional giltwood mirror in the Florentine taste, dating to the mid-20th century or earlier. The frame is richly carved with acanthus scrolls, foliate swags, and an egg-and-dart border surrounding the original oval beveled glass. Measuring 48 inches high by 34 inches wide, it makes a striking focal point over a console, sideboard, or mantel.

Inscribed on the reverse: “Hung 12/18/73, Bought from Safran’s, Columbia, S.C.” — documenting provenance from Safran’s Antiques, a noted South Carolina importer of European furnishings.

Condition: Very good overall with expected age wear to gilt finish. Structurally solid and ready to hang.
