Striking vintage 1968 original landscape painting, signed “NONA 68” at the lower right. The work depicts a tranquil woodland river or pond surrounded by dense trees and foliage, rendered in rich greens, earthy browns, golds, and muted blue-gray tones.
The artist used expressive, heavily textured brushwork to create depth throughout the trees, shoreline, and reflective water, giving the painting an impressionistic quality while retaining a recognizable natural landscape.
Presented in an impressive ornate gilt-finished frame with a linen liner, which complements the painting beautifully and gives the piece substantial decorative presence.
The artist has not been conclusively identified. Research indicates several documented 20th-century artists worked under the name Nona, including American landscape painter Nona Bunn Hodge (1892–1980); however, this painting has not been authenticated or formally attributed to Hodge and is being offered based solely on the visible “NONA 68” signature.
