1932 Antwerp City Sewerage Master Plan – Original Linen Engineering Wall Map (12ft x 11ft)
A rare and impressive original Riolering der Stad Antwerpen (Sewerage Department of the City of Antwerp) wall map, dated 1932.
This monumental 12-foot-tall by 11-foot-wide engineering chart was produced by the Province of Antwerp during the city’s major interwar modernization program. It details the complete municipal sewer and drainage network, with red and orange lines marking primary and planned mains, and black dotted boundaries outlining project zones and municipal divisions.
Printed on heavy paper and linen-backed in three joined panels, this map would have originally hung in a city planning or public works office. It captures neighborhoods such as Wilrijk, Hoboken, Deurne, Berchem, and Antwerp-Centrum, making it a historical record of the city’s growth before World War II.
