Antique Staffordshire Transferware Serving Platter – Mulberry Floral Pattern, Circa 1880s
Large rectangular Staffordshire transferware platter featuring a mulberry floral motif with intricate border and central bouquet. The impressed mark on the reverse, partially legible as “Staffordshire England”, identifies it as a late 19th-century English earthenware piece from one of the many Staffordshire potteries active in that period.
The fine mulberry coloration—a deeper purplish brown variant of the traditional red or flow blue—was popular from the 1840s to 1890s. The glaze shows expected crazing and age toning, typical of authentic Victorian ceramics.
