Elegant antique Japanese porcelain serving pieces produced for the American export market by Morimura Brothers during the Nippon era.
The set features delicate pink floral decoration with pale green leaves, surrounded by extensive hand-applied gold ornamentation. Fine raised moriage beading forms graceful swags and borders throughout, while the large handled serving platter has an ornate scalloped shape with pierced handles and richly gilded edges.
The underside bears the green “Hand Painted Nippon” M-in-Wreath backstamp, with the “M” representing Morimura Brothers. This mark is generally dated to approximately 1911–1921.
