Vintage Hand-Painted Cast Metal Mounted Cavalry Soldiers – Set of 4
$59.00 USD
Set of four vintage cast metal toy soldiers depicting mounted cavalrymen on horseback. Each figure is individually painted with military uniforms featuring gray/silver jackets, red trousers and dark headgear, with horses in black, brown and cream finishes.
The figures appear to be cast lead or similar white metal, consistent with traditional European military miniatures produced by makers such as Britains and other 20th-century toy-soldier manufacturers. The horses are posed in several different running and standing positions, giving the group a good display appearance.
Condition is consistent with age, with substantial paint wear, chipping, surface oxidation and finish loss visible throughout. I would not attribute them to Britains without locating a maker's mark on the underside of the horses or riders.
