Early Zippo petrol lighter manufactured by Zippo Mfg. Co., Bradford, Pennsylvania, and stamped with U.S. Patent No. 2032695. This example features a brushed metal case with custom engraving reading “Northmont” beneath a stylized floral emblem, indicating a period advertising or presentation lighter.
The base stamp reads “ZIPPO MFG. CO. BRADFORD, PA – ZIPPO – PAT. 2032695 – MADE IN U.S.A.”, confirming early production. These pre–World War II Zippos are heavier, more simply finished, and far scarcer than postwar examples.
A solid piece of early American tobacciana and advertising history.
Condition:
