Vintage South Bend Bass-Oreno – Perch Finish – 1940s

This is a South Bend Bass-Oreno, one of the most iconic wooden lures ever made. This example features a perch scale finish with green back, yellow sides, and red around the mouth, along with the characteristic short metal diving lip. It is equipped with two treble hooks and screw-eye hook hangers.

Introduced in 1915 and produced for decades, the Bass-Oreno was one of South Bend’s top-selling models, used for bass, pike, and muskie. The shape and buoyancy allowed it to be used as both a surface and shallow-diving lure.
